Our History

In The Beginning There Was…An idea.

Two years after moving to Cabo Verde from the U.S in 2013 to operate Alfa Systems CV, CEO, Victor Santos thought there was nothing left to build upon in the company.  After three years of successfully providing office equipment and technical support services to various schools on the archipelago islands, Victor decided it was time to return to America.  While in the airport saying goodbye to good friend and former Cape Verdean Ambassador to the U.S., an interesting conversation ensued – the possibility of developing an “offshore outsource” operation in Cabo Verde that could not only expand the existing Alfa Systems CV brand, but create more employment opportunities within the country.  After conducting market research on the topic of business outsourcing and call centers, Victor quickly returned to Cabo Verde and submitted a proposal to the government for up to seven hundred jobs.

Despite the lack of support and positive feedback, Victor decided to move forward with the idea and began looking for Cape Verdeans that spoke the English language.  Although more than three hundred applications of qualified candidates were received, Alfa Systems partners wanted to start with only four Cape Verdean to English interpreters.  Training was provided and the services began immediately.  Two months later, Portuguese and Spanish were requested.  After exceeding their partners expectations, Alfa Systems sought out professionals in Senegal and new languages including French and Wolof were added.  Today, Alfa Systems CV is a growing team that provides interpretation and other back office support to companies that outsource such services.
